Photographic Tours
If you are visiting Scotland or just want to improve your photographic technique, why not join one of our Photographic Tours.
These courses are held in various locations throughout Scotland and are practical in nature.
We pride ourselves on our friendly and relaxed style, which we hope will make you feel at home when in our company.
All our tours are practical in nature and include basic but comfortable accomodation, after all, our intent is to be out taking pictures. For meals, we include a continental breakfast and packed lunches / drinks. Evening meals are not included as these will be taken at local establishments / pubs so we can sample the flavour of the local villages.
Each tour excludes travel to the location, insurance and hire of photographic equipment
The only extras during your stay with us are entry fees to any attractions we may vist, refeshments and evening meals.
All our tours are limited to a maximum of 8 people and we will travel around our locations in a modern minibus.
Depending on the tour, we will pick you up and drop you off at selected points such as bus / rail stations, airports or ferry terminals or town centres.
We have selected a number of locations thoughout Scotland renowned for their outstanding beauty and photogenic qualities.
Each day we will visit a new location within the area under the watchful eye of our experienced guides.
Evenings will be for relaxation and informal discussion and talks about the days events.
Presently our tours are:-
Islay: Based in Port Charlotte covering the coast, people and the towns on the island. We will also spend a day on Jura, which with only 200 residents, but with over 5,000 deer, could be considered one of the most remote places in Scotland. If we have time,we may even visit the odd distillery.
Time: May, cost £425pp.
Glencoe: Based near the village of Glencoe, we will concentrate on the glen and surrounding area and what it can offer the photographer. Early rises and late evening are the order of the day as we explore this most wonderful of locations.
Time: October, cost £480pp.
Lochaber: Based near Fort William we will explore the road to the isles, Neptunes Staircase, Glen Nevis, and perhaps capture the Jacobite steam train as it makes its way over the Glenfinnan viaduct.
Time: September, cost £550pp
Cairngorms: Based near Aviemore, we will explore this rugged area filled with mountains, lochs and an abundance of wildlife.
Local attractions such as the Highland wildlife park, home to Britains only polar bear and the tiger enclosure, also the Higland Folk Museum with many original buildings and contents from the around the highlands.
Time: October, cost £550pp
Borders: Staying near Melrose, we will explore the border countryside with its rolling hills and rivers and the views imortalised by Sir Walter Scott.
Time: April, cost £425pp
Skye: Based in the cente of the island, we will spend our time either exploring the north or south of the island to suit the wetaher and light. The classic views of Elgol and Portree, or the majestic Cuillins wil be fodder for our cameras.
Time: March, cost £480pp
Future tours we are currently working on will include Outer Hebrides, Mull & Iona, Argyll and the Northwest Area of Scotland.
All our tours have been designed with the photographer in mind for both timing and location. (We do not run courses during the main "Midge" Season (June - August).)
Tours normally start either on the Friday and end on the Tuesday, or have a Monday start, finishing on the Friday.
